MOSCOW, November 30th -RIA Novosti. Russian and French president Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron held talks on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, the Kremlin website said.


As the French leader noted, he is pleased to have the opportunity to hold talks with the Russian president. According to Macron, the sides have something to discuss and work together.

"In particular, as far as the situation in Syria is concerned, we found that after a very useful meeting in Istanbul the situation has changed," the French president said.

Putin and Macron also raised the incident of Kurtz's straits. In addition, the French leader added that he would like to discuss with Putin the implementation of the Minsk agreements, cyber security issues, as well as the overall level of security architecture in Europe.

In turn, Putin warmly welcomed his colleague, recalling his visit to Paris on 11 November, when the Russian President participated in events for the 100 anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The head of State also proposed to speak with the French President on the development of bilateral relations.

"Last year, the turnover of trade increased by 16.5% and this year is the same rate of growth," Putin said.

The President of Russia attends the G20 summit in Argentina. Earlier, Putin had already dealt with a meeting of the heads of the BRICS states and had a brief discussion with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte
